1972 Ford LTD Convertible

Features & Comments:

  • Newest addition ... Acquired in August 2017
  • Purchased in Olympia, Washington ... always a local Washington car ... sold new from a Bellevue Ford Dealer ... 50,000 original miles
  • 1972 was the last year of the full-size Ford Convertible


1960 Edsel Ranger 4-Door Hardtop

Features & Comments:

  • Acquired in October 2016 ... another Edsel re-joins classicfords.us ... my second one owned
  • Purchased from Paradise, California from an Edsel collector ... originally a Wisconsin car, spent last 30 years in storage in Texas ... 68,000 original miles
  • 1960 was the final production year for the Edsel ... the line in Louisville, KY ran only from September through November 1959 and produced 2,846 cars ... this car is one of only 135 4-Door Hardtops produced ... many fewer remain
  • Commemorative color for Alaska joining the union ... Alaskan Gold Metallic and Polar White
  • Now own three Y-Blocks ... this one is a 292 cu. in. V8 two barrel (Autolite 2100 style)
  • Got her running again after being in storage so long, have the seats re-upholstered with original fabric from SMS ... door panels on order. On to body work and paint.


1954 Ford F-100 Pickup

Features & Comments:

  • Purchased this 1954 F-100 in May 2016 at a local swap meet where I was trying to sell another car ... couldn't resist !
  • A real time capsule ... 65,000 original miles and completely stock ... almost all of these trucks have been hot rodded by now ...saved this one !
  • First year of the overhead valve V8 by Ford .. a 239 cu. in. Y-Block ... 3 Speed Manual on the tree.
  • Not much to do on this one ... buffed out the existing single stage paint and detailed the engine compartment.
  • After purchasing the 1972 convertible, will be going up for sale after I re-paint the inside of bed and replace the wood.






1935 Ford Fordor Touring Sedan ("Trunkback")

Features & Comments:

  • Purchased in February 2016 from Bergstrom's Antique & Classic Autos in Port Townsend, WA
  • A rare find across the street from a hotel we were staying at on a mini-vacation
  • Thus car is a real "time capsule" with only 75,000 original miles
  • It has the correct 221 cu. in. flathead V8 in it
  • The interior is definitely "original" and I will eventually upgrade it with a LeBaron Bonney reproduction original
  • Nice to see a car of this vintage that has not been chopped up or hotrodded!








1955 Ford Victoria 2-Door Hardtop

Features & Comments:

  • Another 1955 Ford re-joins classicfords.us ... my fourth one owned
  • Purchased from Denver, Colorado from the original owning family ... spent most of its life in Montana, thus the body and frame are not rusty
  • Special spring color combo ... Mountain Green and Snowshoe White
  • 272 cu. in. Y-Block V8 two barrel ... 3 Speed Manual with Overdrive
  • Re-paint completed on-site and a new LeBaron Bonney is installed







1956 Ford Ranch Wagon Swing

Features & Comments:

  • Purchased this bench from J. S. Affordables in Stanwood, WA after seeing an article about Josh, the owner, in the Everett Tribune
  • Converted the bench into an outdoor swing for my handicapped son
  • Even made it "eco-friendly" with a solar system I added to power the tail lights at night





1966 Ford Custom "P Code" Washington State Patrol Car


Features & Comments:

  • Newest addition to the classicfords.us collection
  • Purchased right in Snohomish from another Ford collector ... a rare find
  • A pedigreed Washington State Patrol car ... “P Code” door tag and matching number VIN
  • Notice the absence of a paint code and the extended number of digits in the DSO code
  • The P Code Police Interceptor engine is a 428 cu.in., but has an increased 360 HP with aluminum intake manifold and solid lifters compared to the 345 HP “Q Code” 428 engine in the 7 Litre convertible
  • “Certified Calibration” sticker on speedometer ... Custom 2mph speedometer tick marks, rather than standard 1966 5 mph tick marks
  • Original Washington State Patrol “F368” car number sticker in door jamb
  • Drive train was in pretty good shape, had transmission rebuilt
  • Full body and interior restoration completed on-site ... 9 months in the making. New fenders, hood, trunk, all doors, rust repairs in floors and trunk and full interior re-done.

Classicfords.us "Watch Dog" ... 1958 Edsel Pacer Front Clip

Features & Comments:

  • Recent addition to the classicfords.us collection
  • Purchased in Portland as the only remaining portion of a 60,000 mile Pacer 4-Door sedan
  • Added high-tech LED Halo headlights and LED parking lights that activate with photo cell and the full headlights come on based on motion sensors ... see halo lights in photo below
  • Needed a full restoration and repaint (color change from Jonquil Yellow to Turquoise) ... see before picture below



1965 Ford Thunderbird

Features & Comments:

  • A local purchase from right here in Snohomish in November 2013 ... car referred to me by a former business associate
  • No longer in the collection ... sold in May 2016 to a T-Bird collector in Arkansas
  • Originally owned by the president of the local T-Bird club
  • The T-Bird's of this year all had the 390 V8 w/4-barrrel carb
  • Loaded ... power windows, power door locks, power seat, tilt wheel and A/C
  • Unique Frost Turquoise with black interior
  • Have now completed replacing some rusted body panels, repaint, mechanical and interior refresh. Ready to cruise!

1958 Edsel Corsair

Features & Comments:

  • Another Canadian purchase in October 2012, this time from White City, Saskatchewan Canada
  • No longer in the collection ... Sold in May 2016 via Seattle Craigslist in 3 days to a party in Sweden ... this car will have lived in three countries !
  • 1958 Edsel Corsair, 2 Door Hardtop, 58,500 miles
  • Rare Canadian-built car ... 1 of only 254 made
  • Rebuilt original 410 cu.in. motor (marked as "E475" on the valve covers, indicating torque spec)
  • Now sporting new Torch Red scallop paint, re-chromed bumpers, wide whites and renewed interior

1994 Ford F150 XL

Features & Comments:

  • The official Classicfords.us LLC work truck
  • Purchased locally for $1500 and did some mnor restoration
  • New grille,clutch, tires, painted wheels, bed liner

2013 Ford Explorer XLT

Features & Comments:

  • Shifted the "grocery getter" from the 2003 Harley to the new Exporer
  • Went from a 5.4L SC engine to a 2.0L, 4 Cylinder EcoBoost engne
  • Interesting to compare the Model A 3.2L 4 cyl @40HP to the new EcoBoost 2.0L @240HP !!

1931 Model A Ford Deluxe Roadster

Features & Comments:

  • Another eBay purchase, this time from Puyallup, WA
  • Solid car with the original Model A drive train (4 cylinder, 40 HP, 200 cubic inches)
  • I have now replaced the 1935 wheels it had on it with original 19" Model A wheels powder coated with Tacoma Cream and Firestone wide whites
  • The red is not an original color, but plans are to eventually re-paint it in Stone Brown with Dark Stone Gray trim

1931 Model A Ford Deluxe Roadster (Engine Compartment)

Features & Comments:

  • Just completed first round of mechanical work (new water pump, hoses, generator, full tune up and engine re-paint)
  • With tune up and exhaust leak fixed, now has that classic Model A Ford sound !

2008 Saleen S331 Sport Truck

Features & Comments:

  • One of 40 Saleen Sport Trucks built by Saleen in 2008
  • 450 HP Stock Supercharged
  • With JDM Stage One kit, now 530 HP
  • Saleen suspension, 15" rotors, Interior
  • On display through June 2015 at LeMay America's Car Museum in Tacoma, WA as one of 21 trucks in their "F-Series, the truck that grew up with America" exhibit. See LeMay's Website

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased on eBay in June 2006 ... No longer in the collection ... sold in March 2016 to a party in Trumbull, Connecticut
    • Still had origianl black California plates
    • Numbers matcing Dark Ivy Green, Parchment Interior
    • 390 V8, Two Barrel Carb
    • Featured in Microsoft's XBOX 360 Forza Motorsport 4 video game ... Microsoft took 200 pictures of this car to make the graphics for the game
    • The first picture below is a screen shot from the game with the digitally rendered Country Squire!
    • The next five pictures after that are of the Country Squire on display at LeMay America's Car Museum as part of the updated Route 66 Exhibit featuring 11 vintage station wagons through September 2015

    Three 1966 Fords (First Time)

    • For a brief period, the collection had three 1966 Fords at one time
    • In trying to sell the LTD, the 7 Litre was found and could not be passed up !!
    • The LTD has since been sold, went back to two 1966's and then the Country Squire was found ... Opps, back to Three again !!

    • Exactly Forty years apart ... two 1966 Galaxies and one 2006 Mustang GT

    • Custom ordered and deleverd on October 3, 2005 with 4 miles on it.
    • Added the Ford licensed black racing stripes, sequential tail lights and a K&N air intake.
    • Screaming Yellow !!
    • No longer in the collection, sold when S331 purchased

    Hertz 2005 Mustang Influenced the 2006 GT Purchase

    Features & Comments:

    • Rented this 2005 Mustang V6 from Hertz in Arizona
    • Found it very comfortable to drive on a 400-mile trip
    • Even had a chance for the new Mustang to "bond" with some real Mustangs at "The Bisbee Ranch"

    66 Ford Galaxie 500 7-Litre Convertible

    Features &

    • Factory 4-Speed, 428 cu. in. “Q Code” V8
    • 1966 was the only year Ford produced the branded model "7 Litre"
    • Of the 10,000 7 Litres built … 2,000 were converitbles
    • This is one of only 494 convertibles built with the factory 4-speed
    • Exterior is "Vintage Burgandy" and the interior is "Parchment"
    • As of July 11, 2015, the 7 Litre is now part of the LeMay America's Car Museum (ACM) "American Muscle ... Rivals to the End" exhibit (see photos below)
    • It is the third vehicle this year that has been invited to be placed on display at ACM

    • The first year of Ford's F-150 with  four full-size doors
    • Practical combination of passenger and cargo capacity
    • The first truck to enter the collection
    • A 5.4L V8 engine gave plenty of power for boat hauling
    • No longer in the collection

    1966 Mercury Monterey Convertible ... Boca Raton, FL

    • The longest car to have ever been in the fleet
    • The Merc saw mostr corners of the US ... New Hampshire, Florida, Washington, Kansas
    • Another 390 CID V8 aurtomatic

    1966 Mercury Monterey Convertible ... Friday Harbor, WA

    Features & Comments:                                                        

    • After relocating from Florida, the Mercury made the ferry trip through the San Juan islands to Friday Harbor.

    1955 Ford Crown Victoria

    Features & Comments:                                                        

    • Purchased from "Rust-Free Bob" (Chandler Classic Cars, Bradenton, Florida)
    • The "Crown Vic" had the Ford Y-Block 292 V8 two barrel carb
    • It had a 3-speed on the column ... very rare ... most of the Crown Vic's were automatic
    • Lived in both Florida and Washington state
    • No longer in the collection. 

    1955 Ford Crown Victoria & Vicky II

    Features & Comments:                                                        

    • After moving to Washington state, had to get a boat to explore the San Juan Islands
    • So, wife said too many toys and one has to go ... sold the Crown Vic, but the boat was red and white and named "Vicky II"
    • Neither still in the collection. 

    1986 Mustang LX Convertible

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased from Uncle Billy after he purchased it new and put 10,000 miles on it
    • Great fun as a daily driver in Florida for about a year
    • No longer in the collection

    1955 Ford Sunliner Convertible

    Features & Comments:

    • Another purhase from Uncle Billy ... had it delivered from New Hampshire to Florida by truck.
    • Another great Florida road cruiser
    • No longer in the collection

    1972 Ford Maverick Grabber

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased when living in Michigan as a "beater" to save the 1969 T-Bird from the salt
    • Purhcased from the original owner, a Dearborn Ford employee
    • Three speed on the column with whopping 170 cu. in. straight six !
    • No longer in the collection

    1969 Ford Thunderbird 2-Door Landau

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased new as a family car in New York
    • Handed down as a graduate school car and lived in New Orleans for four years ... with the 429 V8, 4 barrel, was a great tow car to pull the 1931 Model A on its trailer.
    • This shot was an unusual event ... snow in New Orleans!
    • No longer in the collection

    1969 T-Bird in Michigan

    Features & Comments:

    • Now the T-Bird had relocated from New Orleans back to New York and then to Wolverine Lake, Michigan
    • Looks sharp even in black & white
    • No longer in the collection

    1931 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan ... Before

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased through Hemmings Motor News in 1972
    • Drove from New Orleasns to Saint Loius, Missouri to pick it up
    • This is the classic "before" shot ... including the wrong wheels, tires and headlights
    • Restored while in graduate school in the Sigma Nu fraternity driveway

    1931 Model A Ford Tudor Sedan ... Restored

    Features & Comments:

    • Here is the Model A once restored in historic Audubon Park in New Orleans
    • The Model A stay in the collecion for 11 years ... after being restored in New Orleans, it moved to New York, then on to Michigan where it was used to drive away from the church after our wedding and then moved with us to Florida
    • No longer in the collection

    1966 Ford Galaxie 500XL ... Candy Apple Red

    Features & Comments:

    • Another purchase from Uncle Billy when it was about one year old with less than 1,000 miles on it
    • This was my first 1966 Galaxie ... wish I still had it ... had a 390 V8 with a 4 barrel and 4-speed on the floor ...this car moved right along
    • This car made the full circle in the family ... from Uncle Billy to me, from me to Uncle Sandy and then back to Uncle Billy ... the first picture was in Katonah, New York in 1967 and the second picture was in Sarasota, Florida right before he sold the car outside the family in the 1980's
    • No longer in the collection

    1966 Ford Country Squire

    Features & Comments:

    • Purchased new as a family car when I was 17
    • Shown in our driveway in 1966 in Scarsdale, New York
    • Had a 10-pasenger parchment interior with a 390 V8, 2 barrel just like the Dark Ivy Green car currently in the collection
    • No longer in the colection

    1955 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan

    Features & Comments:

    • My first car ... took my New York driver license test in it ... yes, purchased from Uncle Billy for $375
    • This sedan was clean & loaded ... Power Windows, Power Seat, Power Brakes, Power Steering and a 272 V8
    • Driven for several years as daily driver.
